The following projects are the future HDC-financed developments in the initial stages of construction. Oak Park, Phase 2

The Housing Authority will be submitting a Disposition application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Oak Park property. The Disposition of this property from its Public Housing Designation is a necessary step in the redevelopment efforts. HUD requires the completion of an Environmental Review for this Disposition Action.

The current Oak Park public housing property consists of 148 units on approximately 30 acres for family housing.

The Paso Robles Housing Authority proposes to develop about 250 units of affordable housing on this site. It is anticipated that the new development will be constructed in three phases, the first phase will be the building of replacement units to accommodate households living in the rental assisted units and the demolition of some of the existing units.

Haciendas 3 & 4

The Haciendas Housing Development will be a newly constructed 151 unit community with a three story commercial building. This 5.43 +/- acre “triangle” shaped site is currently a 76 unit Public Housing site in the central area of the City of Salinas. The current Public Housing site will be demolished and rebuilt.

The Housing Authority envisions a multi-family development consisting of 1-4 bedroom size units with a range of income affordability levels. The housing development will have landscaped and grass areas throughout the site as well as the use of the adjacent property located behind the development for additional green space used as recreational area for the enjoyment of the residents.

The Haciendas Housing Development is located at the corner of Sherwood Drive and Calle Cebu in the City of Salinas. This 151 affordable housing community will include a three-story commercial building near the corner of Sherwood Drive and Calle Cebu.  The Housing Authority envisions an infill mixed-use multi-family development consisting of 1-4 unit dwellings incorporated with open space and on-site community services.  The community will be built, in part, as a replacement housing site for the existing Haciendas project plus provide additional affordable housing for the community.  The area will benefit by temporary construction jobs to the area as well as provide additional affordable housing for the City’s residents. The commercial space will help increase the tax base for the City.
